"And if a day goes by without my doing something related to photography, it's as though I've neglected something essential to my existence, as though I had forgotten to wake up. I know that the accident of my being a photographer has made my life possible." - Richard Avedon - 1970
I have always loved anything photographic from playing with dads old rangefinder to sorting through family photographs from my grandmothers dresser. All things photographic have always fascinated me, the technology of it, the beauty of it, the magic of it..
I received my Bachelor of Science in Photography from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, VA and my Masters of Fine Arts in Photography from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. I spent several years as an adjunct professor at Virginia Commonwealth and Virginia Highlands Community College.
I am blessed to have a loving supportive husband who understands my passion, a photogenic step son who along with friends and family can always be counted on to pose and allow me to 'try something new'...and of course 3 very photogenic dogs...I've been photographing for over 20 years and still find each image and each shoot as fun and magical as the first.
